And the rain won’t wash awaythe ashes underneath your nails
Friends
She dances in light and smoke…
Friendship is sort of a complex puzzle to Alexia. She’s lead an extremely sheltered life till now, and friends haven’t really been part of it in any capacity. She’s able to get along with all her younger siblings for the most part, so Alexia’s not completely in the dark when it comes to social interaction, and she’s a quick learner but she does have trouble relating to other people.
She’s not terribly empathetic because she simply wasn’t raised that way, and Lexie is very much a product of her upbringing. She has a very dry sense of humor, and she’ll most likely get along with people who enjoy sarcasm, dirty jokes and cynical laughter. She has manners, and is always sure to mind her P’s and Q’s, and she’s not terribly rude to anyone; she typically seems more bored with them than anything.
Having friends sounds like an excellent thing to Lexie, she’s just not exactly sure how to go about getting them. Add in social anxiety and an overwhelming amount of shyness and Alexia can seem distant, or even cold; though this is almost the last thing she wants people to think of her.
She’d be a good, loyal friend; it’d just take work to actually get to that point.Enemies
And is the wasteland after the fire
Lexie typically attempts to keep her head down when it comes to pissing people off, out of concern that she might freak out in anger and end up killing someone. She knows going to a place like St. Gabriels, she’ll end up making enemies and rivalries, but as for intention, she’s trying very hard to avoid that. On the case that it does happen, Lexie’s not the type to gossip or spread rumors or overtly try and harm anyone or their reputation.
However. Most of the Solheim children were raised with the phrase: “An eye for an eye.”
When it comes to things like this, Alexia’s more reactive than proactive, but fuck with her and she’ll fuck back, it’s just how she’s wired. She’s not very good at defending herself proactively, except against family. In a screaming match, it’d be more common for her to simply stand there and take it, but for her family or those who are completely defenseless, Alexia can kill.
She’s aristocratic however, most of the Solheim’s are, and this might cause her to gain a touch of infamy. While she hates arrogance in any form directed at her or those she cares about, Alexia can brandish a superiority complex that would make a Kardashian feel humble.
She’s manipulative, to the point where she does it naturally; a lie here, a smile to get what she wants there, a spell, maybe a touch of intimidation. She’s subtle about her manipulations, but she’s also sure people will notice and most people hate being manipulated.Lovers
She will not speak of love, but rather the rapture of righteousness…
Love? What exactly is that? Because Alexia sure as hell doesn’t know. She’s read about it, she’s seen it on T.V., in the movies, everywhere in the media. She’s watched a poisonous kind of love seep from her parents, and she knows she is expected to drink that poison in the form of her own brother.
But in truth, she knows nothing of true love, but that does not stop her from wanting it. Alexia wants romantic love, like the books and movies. She doesn’t understand that fairy tale endings don’t really happen, and so she’s incredibly naïve about it. She thinks that if she can escape her family, if she can pull away; that there will be a Prince Charming waiting at the bottom of the tower, poised to rescue her from the evil witch coming to keep her locked away.
Anyone who did love her would be in for an exciting ride to be sure; dynamic political games involving an incestuous, incredibly powerful and controlling family, while trying to hide what exactly is happening behind closed doors while they teach Alexia what sex really is.
It wouldn’t be easy to win Alexia’s heart, and she’d never attempt to win anyone else’s, but if captured, she’d love you with everything she is. It was most likely for this chance that Alexia agreed to come to St. Gabriels. It’s her chance to escape, her chance to find what she’s been looking for even if she doesn’t truly understand what that is.Poetry from ‘The White Witch’ by OkayOphelia
