Every girl wants to feel beautiful. She dresses up, puts on a little gloss and a little glitter waiting for someone to notice her. No matter how much they deny it, there is a great difference between a man calling a woman pretty and hearing it from her friends. Sure, it was superficial and maybe even childish to want that, but for Sephora she wanted to be loved, she wanted to feel wanted. For her it was no longer about the attention or the flirtatious encounters. It was the missed moments that she lost when the very thing that made life worth living was torn from her arms. She inhaled, cooling the ache in her chest with the fresh air. She had once breathed for him...
It was simple tonight, no glamour, no glitz. Sephora had slipped on a simple grey cardigan over her white, knee-length nightgown. Not wanting for much more she donned a pair of flip-flops and took a drive down to cote bleau. It was one of her favorite places to go even when the tide wasn't high, but since Luka's death she frequented it only when the moon called her name. Tonight she wanted to be closer to him and closer to the freedom she had felt when he had brightened up her existence.
As she parked her car she drew in another breath to calm her nerves and grab the book she had been struggling through the last couple of weeks. It wasn't that Sephora was illiterate or slow when it came to reading, she simply lacked the willpower that had made her reputation at St. Gabriel. After all Sephora had always been known for being a little full of herself and proud of her Siren heritage. She was a threat to prideful beauties and an emblem to all social butterflies.
Yet as she sat at the edge of the cliff, resting her head upon the old kissing tree, she became a shadow of her former self. Quiet, reserved and kept to herself, Sephora found little joy in much anymore. So it was here at the place where they once promised to spend their lives together, that Seph sought release in another romance novel. She had grown fond of the tragic essence that seemed to surround Nicholas Spark's novels. While most viewed him as cliche and repetitive, Sephora found comfort in his words.
She opened the book letting the cool salty air tousle her blonde locks as she began to lose herself in a different world. There with the pages unfolded before her, Sephora could forget. She could erase time and turn back the hands that had forced her to grieve. Instead she could feel the warmth of the sunlight again, smile and fall in love with ghosts without anyone urging her to move on.
Before she could settle in fully the sound of a wave crashing i, awoke her from her daze and she felt as though there was someone there with her. "Is there something I can help you with..." Sephora didn't move. Her eyes still traced over the edge of the page and her head only tilted upward slightly. While she was aware it could have been nothing, she never let her guard down. Here nothing could harm her. She was in her element and with the ocean so close to her hand, it was better they show themselves than incur her wrath.

Peace and quiet... something that Roxie did not enjoy so much. She loved to listen to people scream and cry as their lives faded from them. She loved that quiet moment as death took their final breaths but then she would often grow restless within the silence that had come afterwards. This meant it was time for another victim or time to return to the demons that she lived near. At least the headmaster was smart enough to let Roxie live with her fellow demons within the dorms or else he would have more blood on his hands. Technically Roxie had never killed anyone in school, but tonight she was off campus grounds with a victim that her father left for her to feed from. It was pathetic that he would bring her victims when she could just go out and find her own but still she did not want to let a warm human go to waste. A human was still food and Roxie enjoyed the blood that came with a feeding.
She left campus in secret that evening under the cover of night. There was a full moon that evening that light up the sky around it but still managed to allow the small stars to shine as well. A lovely evening and Roxie pulled her nice coat tighter around her body as the belt cinched in the waist. Then she got into a car and drove off to the location that her father told her that her meal would be. As she arrived she saw the human wrapped up in rope and struggling to get away without the ability. As they struggled, Roxie smirked and then stopped the car. She left the lights on so she could watch her victim as they kept fighting their bonds, however tonight she was not in the mood to allow them to suffer long. Her eyes went completely black as her claws ripped through the flesh with great ease before Roxie fed on the dying blood. It was a quick, almost clean, kill but it satisfied her appetite... at least for now. But she wasn't quite ready to return to campus or did she feel like driving back into town. So for now she began to walk towards the sounds of the rushing water. Normally Roxie hated the beach but tonight she was well relaxed after eating such a nice meal.
As she approached she noticed another car sitting close by, which meant that she had company and she was curious to see who would want to be so close to the edge. The blonde girl sitting by the tree was familiar to Roxie but still she kept her distance. At least she was smart enough to know that the siren was closer to her element and Roxie was no stupid enough to attack an employee of the school so close to her own graduation. The headmaster would surely have enough push to drive her out of the school and she would not give him that satisfaction. It took several moments but the other female finally took nice of her presence and Roxie smirked her usual wicked smile as she stepped from her place in the shadows. "Relax Seph... its just me." She replied.
Slowly she closed the gap between them but still maintained a safe distance of separation between them since she did not wish to anger the girl she had known for so many years. The girl who had graduated a year ahead of her and came back to work as the nurse at the school. They were not friends and in fact they were quite the opposite of each other. Roxie was dark and evil while Sephora was lovely and kind and everyone loved her. Everyone fear Roxie. The same smirk continued to dance across her lips as she placed both hands on her hips in a less aggressive manner. "So... how are things... it seems that lately you've been avoiding me? Sad to see me leave in a few months?"

Everyone knew that there were immortals at St. Gabriel. Sephora herself had a little over nine hundred years under belt and only needed about seventy-eight more years to reach a thousand. Still it was tedious work to keep suspicious eyes away from her ageless skin. Thus the game of student staff back to student after a bit of vacation and back to student again. Sephora simply couldn’t count the amount of graduation caps she had collected alongside the robes. She had made it a game with the other immortals on how many times “the headmaster” had mysteriously died and been replaced by a new one and to see who had the most graduation caps. Sephora had made a collage of them in her room and she could by color and appearance tell you which belonged to what graduation year. It was a reminder of a repetitive, but enjoyable past, just as the voice was.
Slowly she shut the book with recognition and set it aside. She laid her hands against her thighs staring out into the horizon. It seemed the person who had joined her was none other than Roxanne Parker. Seph didn’t have anything against the girl save for the fact that occasionally Roxie annoyed her, but here with the ocean so close Seph could wash her off the cliff with a single flick of her hand. While it might not kill the demon, it would have been hilariously amusing to Sephora. Still no harm was done and nothing was said to irk either party. “Hello Roxie.” A superficial smile crossed her lips as she leaned into tree angling her body slightly towards her acquaintance. Sephora had graduated for the umpteenth time the year before and Roxie was one of the more notable girls at St. Gabriel. She was known for her cruelty and getting on Alexander’s nerves.
She was, in Sephora’s opinion, one of the true demons at the school. That was the only reason Seph gave any slight acknowledgement of respect towards her. Anyone who stuck to the true nature of their species was worth that much. “Same as things have always been. Fun, Good, whatever you want to call it.” Sephora drew her eyes up towards the moon noting it’s fullness. She hung high in the sky despite it and it wasn’t a night that pulled the tides in and beckoned her tailed children to come forth. Still, it was full and she knew the blood banks would be working double the time tonight with all the students and staff needing to feed. Hopefully the numbers of the blood drinkers would wane after graduation or else they’d have to find more donation sites to get blood from. “How are things with you, terrified anymore students or tormented anymore staff? I hear Alexander has missed you in his office lately.”
To anyone else it would have sounded like taunting, but Sephora was simply asking her about the things that delighted her the most. After all Roxie loved the macabre and the gore. Actually, the Siren thought, she loved the suffering and the torment. Whatever… Seph was the kind who didn’t really understand it, she just went with it so she didn’t have to call in a storm and strike the girl down with a bolt of lightning. After all, Seph came from a clan of Sirens who raided and destroyed ships leaving its inhabitants to die in the open ocean. She couldn’t quite judge Roxie, since she too had once had her fill of fun in killing a few sailors now and then. “Oh so very sad Roxie, but I’m sure you’re ready to get the hell out of here.”

In the world of immortals, Roxie was nothing more than some infant about to endure her first graduation from college. A feat that many of those in her community had already accomplished several times, in fact her own father held several degrees from important universities that he had obtained over his life time. Her grandmother had attended several schools and also had several degrees that she obtained later in life due to the lack of women that attended schools when she was small. Her mother had only gone through graduation a couple of times since her traditional family believed in a woman's work to be left towards the house and childbearing. Her mother quite enjoyed the 1950s period in history but now even Roxie saw that her mother was out of place. Roxie planned to never fall out of fashion but she did not really have intentions of obtaining multiple degrees unless her life became quite boring. Now... she much saw herself in the role of a twenty something year old socialite with the world at her feet and men bowing before her. Something about being stuck in a world of rules and studying left her feeling bored. The only pleasure she got out of this institution was one of the students around her shaking in fear and the secret pleasure that she knew one day the headmaster, with all of his rules, would be kneeling before her and begging for his own safety. A secret little fantasy she kept in the back of her mind that often brought her a smile.
Her arms folded across her chest as she hid her claws behind the fabric. They still reeked of human blood and she did not wish to allow Sephora the pleasure of seeing Roxie and knowing that she just fed. Weakness came during the moments of enjoying her meal, since she left herself open to those watching. While she feasted her attention was draw away and stuck on the meal in front of her and although she was not feeding at this moment there was still a certain relaxed nature about her afterwards. Not to the point of completely letting her guard down since she knew that she was so close to Sephora's strength, but Roxie was holding herself back. "Really... you call sitting by a cliff and reading a book fun?" She asked with an amused expression on her lips. "Where is the social creature I once knew you to be?" It was funny that Roxie and Sephora did share one trait between them and that was their social ability. Of course Roxie preferred a specific set of company and Sephora was just so nice to everyone, but still both enjoyed having company around them.
She pondered the idea that maybe they could have set their differences aside and been social together but then she would have to laugh at her own stupidity. Their paths had crossed here while they were at school, if only because everyone's paths eventually crossed. However she doubted that they would have ever truly had a connection as friends. Something about Roxie's love of torture and Sephora's kind and gentle nature would have kept them at odd if they had even tried such a silly idea. At her comment through. Roxie had to laugh. "Oh really? He misses me? Last time I saw him he seemed more interested in his little cell phone that the pet thing he created gave him then paying attention to me." She often mocked his little creation since she found it quite amusing that he would have such love for the girl. Poor thing. The headmaster and all vampires had the same weakness towards those that they created.
"I suppose I can find enough of an excuse to go and visit... " There were plenty of ways to get sent to the headmasters office and Roxie was a fan of many of them. There the was the verbal abuse of a teacher, throwing knives at the students, threatening the life of someone, or many other things that Roxie was a fan of. Her eyes glanced out into the distance at the sea and rested eventually on the bright moon that filled the sky. Slowly she unfolded her arms from across her chest and then slipped her hands into the front pockets. "I think I am going to go off and see the world." She commented since she just assumed that Seph would be curiosity about where she planned to go afterwards. Her age showed in that statement since most immortals had seen the world and all of its changes but Roxie only knew of this city and the ones her grandmother spoke of. "Would you suggest that I travel by boat? I hear that it can be dangerous but most sirens have been dormant when it comes to overturning ships recently." She asked and smirked as her gaze returned to the siren sitting in front of her.

There was a lot that had changed over the centuries. She had gone from being the ruthless Siren in a clan full of vicious and vain women to pushing that energy into her social outlets. While she could still wreck a ship and beat the shit out of anyone who crossed her, Sephora had reached a point in her age when she fascinated herself in other things. Though she had once loved to travel, there wasn’t a part of the world or the ocean she hadn’t gotten her hands on. Therefore she had been into experiencing new things in life like trying new recipes in the kitchen, scrapbooking and occasionally something daring and different like cliff diving or hunting. It was rare that she ever got bored and moments like this she relished. Being able to read a book and just relax took the edge off her constantly busy lifestyle. When she wasn’t healing students, she was still maintaining her social life and when she wasn’t socializing she was off and about trying something new. “A girl has to have her downtime eventually.” Sephora rolled her eyes a bit setting the book between two semi-exposed roots. She leaned back tousling her hair a bit with her hands before resting them in her lap. “Just because I read doesn’t mean I don’t socialize. It just means I’m not another dumb twat blabbering about nothing, plus it’s annoying having to listen to those girls whine and moan all the time.”
It was true. After centuries of being alive, it was hard to find equal company. Those who lived long enough to know what she was talking about were either stark mad, overly pensive or incredibly stoic and satisfied in their solitude. Seph could often talk to Alexander, but as of late the two of them had run out of things to say to one another. He was busy raising his progeny and she was preoccupied with the thoughts of rage and vengeance. Then there were the other staff members. The new and mysterious head of security, while gorgeous, wouldn’t give anyone the time of day and something about him rubbed her the wrong way. Then there was the French professor Ettie. While Seph liked her bubbliness, the faery was also less than half her age which still made it difficult to relate. After a while it was starting to get tiring and if things didn’t change she was going to wreck ships for fun off the coast of the island. Which meant that a good deal of attention would come Elysium’s way and she was sure Alexander would not like that.
“He has to yell at someone and lately it’s been quiet.” She gave a little shrug tossing her hair over her shoulder. Her eyes settled on the tide wishing that more tropical storms had come their way. The peacefulness on the island probably had something to do with a lot of the supernaturals that inhabited it. With all the elementals, weather was up to them. If a storm came in and someone didn’t like it, they counteracted it with their own powers. It was really annoying and Seph made a mental note to create one of her own storms to go enjoy the waters in. “I’m just waiting for his pet thing to lose control and decimate half the population. It’ll give me more to do in the infirmary, I’m starting to get bored.” It seemed cold to admit that she liked it when there was a high volume of student accidents. It was fun treating all the different wounds and mishaps. The blood, gore and fun of emergency action was the reason she had become a nurse to begin with. While it was fun for a while supes were getting more careful and less experimental which was no fun for the infirmary work at all.
It was the first time that Seph really talked to Roxie. The two of them usually had shallow conversations, due to the fact that Roxie was known for getting under people’s skins and irking them. However, Seph didn’t really mind her. Occasionally she thought of slamming the girl repetitively into the cliff walls, but that was on the bad days when the two of them really went at each other with a kind of vicious rivalry. Still Seph held a small respect for the girl. She was ambitious, strong and a true representative of her species. Like the proud Sirens, Roxie wasn’t going to allow anyone to tell her what to do and Seph respected that greatly. “Oh you’d love the world beyond Elysium. It’s a real Demon’s playground, a lot of people to torment with no one to stop you.” A little bit of a laugh escaped Sephora at the thought. It was true. The world was a supernaturals playground and it was the powerful immortal species that rid the high life. They wrapped the weak around their fingers and took whatever pleased them. In the time that Seph had been trying to find herself, she did a lot of damage as a Siren on dry land. “Just the new clans.” A clear look of disgust shadowed Sephora’s features.
“Those baby shit Sirens are ruining the bloodline.” Sephora hated the newborns. Most of them didn’t belong in actual clans in power. Instead the newborn Sirens often stuck to the single mer family or those nasty mer schools. “However if you want to watch the terror of a bunch of dying humans on a cruise, head down to Sydney and right off the coast is a pass where boats try to avoid, but they never pass because the Siren clan is still strong there. ”

There was no doubt in Roxie's mind that Sephora had once lived up to the myths of her species and she had once destroyed anything within her path. Maybe a younger Sephora and Roxie might have gotten along although there still would have been that power struggle between land and sea with Roxie loosing each time they ventured too close to the coast. Then again Sephora would have been totally weak to Roxie when it came to her love of being in control and assuming that they were in a land locked area. Of course age separated them, as did their natures and how Sephora was completely content to enjoy socializing with those around her. Roxie wanted to socialize with people through watching them cower at her feet, which would be more than fun for her. Not so fun for those required to do the cowering. It would be enjoyable for her at least.
"Down time? That's stupid." She replied. Having down time was really just saying that no one wanted to be around you at that moment. It was really like admitting that she had run out of friends or something. Of course when you were damn near ancient, she assumed that friends were really just ways to pass the long moments of immortality. Her grandmother often looked out the window for hours and hours because she had nothing else better to do. Immortality was a gift to be cherished but it was also a curse to be dealt with. Demons often married for company and then divorced to find something new. Marriage was for the purpose of creating new demon children and very few stayed within the marriage long past the childhood of the new demon. For her parents it was a power struggle to see who was strongest and could best influence Roxie. Her father often won the privileged of teaching her while her mother faded into the shadows. Soon she assumed her mother would leave and Roxie would leave as well.
"To tell the truth I think the headmaster enjoys my company more than he will let on." She commented. Slowly she crouched down and just watched the girl she had been speaking with. It was her way of sitting down while still being able to move in case things got out of hand between them. "He just keeps inviting me to visit him in that office... its very private in there. One of these days he will just give into my lovely charms." Roxie was so vain when it came to her own appearance, a trait that she assume Sephora understood and agreed with. Vanity and narcissism were strong traits often found in only the strongest females. "oh don't get me started on his little pet. He probably feeds her from those blood banks and when she finally gets to drink from a human then I guarantee you will have something to do. Its not natural to force vampires and demons to feed from plastic bags." She had little faith that Alexander had taught his little pet control or anything. He probably babied her to the best of his abilities. Kept her safely under lock and key, which worked for now but was unrealistic for the future.
The rivalry only came because they were both so similar. Powerful females with the ability to control those around them and both were lovely. They were both pretty and desired by men around them. The fact was that they were so similar that they could not have formed a friendship. Two alpha males could not run the same pack together. One always had to submit and Roxie would not back down. Her smirk widened at the prospect of having a playground outside of this little island. "Oh good because I am tired of these stupid rules restricting my every movement. Freedom beyond graduation." She commented. She looked forward to enjoying her freedoms that lay outside of the grounds of campus. There was just so much to look forward to without having a headmaster to tell her no.
Then she was told about an area where Sirens still held power over the sea. "Is that the clan you were born to?" She asked. The question might have seemed like Roxie was interested in Sephora's history but the truth was that she was curious as to how vicious she had once been. "And as awful as the newborns are... they still are required to carry on the species." She commented. A hint that Roxie had been offended by her comment could be heard in her tone. After all she was a newborn in the demon blood line but she was not ruining what her family created.

A small breeze rolled through taking with it the cool spray of salt water and the scents of the ocean. Sephora had of late contemplated returning to live in the sea. While her father lived on land with most of her siblings, her mother choose to remain in the ocean only returning every so often to enjoy the company of her family. That was the difference between Sirens and Demons. Regardless of the land versus sea both could be equally vicious, but Sirens still retained a very close bond to one another and didn’t have the need for power struggle. Demons were born vicious, heartless and for a reason. After all in myth and lore they were children of the devil and warriors for Hell. Demons were created to torment and to cause suffering with a fighting spirit that would deflect Angels who tried to interfere. Seph understood that and knew that no matter what it came down to Roxie and herself could never come to the terms of a true friendship, because their natures in their own rights were different.
“For you it might be, but once you get older so many things become trivial and when you have forever mortals become less interesting.” That was the tradeoff with immortality. Yes, one had years upon years to do whatever they wanted. However once the years passed, Seph realized she had done all the things she wanted to do and eventually got bored. Lately she had made a list of trying new and exciting things, but when it came down to it Seph decided to allow things to just happen. If someone invited her to a party she went, if there was something going on in town she’d go, but if there was nothing, then she could relax and enjoy her personal time. Personal time had become especially important since the flood of new students. With a larger student body there were more accidents and more annoyances ending up in the infirmary. Her little time alone was valuable to her, because she was sure if one the students stepped on her toes again she’d drown them. “Alexander won’t let me sink any ships off the coast even if I let the crew live…” A quick pout crossed her face. “I get the value of life, blah blah blah, but I sometimes miss hearing men scream. I think I just hate men…” A delighted smile crossed her lips at the thought of a drowning sailor. It was something about Siren blood that made them enjoy that. Perhaps it was because only females could be born Sirens and that merman and mermaids were the inferior of their kind. “Destruction is healthy and it feels good, I don’t see why Alexander won’t let me or anyone else for that matter have a little fun.”
There was a part of her that believed that in order to eradicate those Holy Cross freaks anyone should have been fair game. The island should have been every man for himself and when it came down to it everyone should have been able to fight their fight. If Seph didn’t like the way someone looked at her she could send them off a cliff with the sound of her voice or strike them dead with a bolt of lightning from her storm and if they were like her, well they’d fight back. Easy as that. It would have been entirely fun to watch those pathetic mortals try and fight a Siren, let alone someone more vicious, a demon, like Roxie. “I’m sure with your kinds of… hobbies we’d be able to weed out the weak ones and get rid of those nasty Holy Cross blood bags.” She shook her head knowing that it was a far-fetched want. Alexander was twice her age and deeply engrained in his promise to a dead progeny. Seph had often found herself in deep arguments with the man despising him for not allowing her to wring out every neck to find out who was murdering students in cold blood. She didn’t understand him and the two of them fell on opposite spectrums when it came to school policy. “He probably does, he likes to play coy, but all vampires were once human and human men are soft when it comes to women.”
“Especially of your caliber. Alex has a thing for blondes which is probably why he picked that girl for a progeny. Although, I won’t insult you by lumping you two in the same category. You are far more exotic than any of those humans will ever be.” When it came to Sirens and Demons vanity was a must. Vanity after all was just confidence not only in one’s power, but their ability to display it. Sephora gave her compliments where they were due. Calling Roxie ugly or simply on the standards of human beauty was an insult underserving of even the lowest Siren and Roxie was better than that. No matter their differences, Sephora would not deny that Roxie had that demon glow about her. Comfortable in her own power and appearance, Seph could say compliments and not feel damaged by them. After all she fed on the attention and she was sure Roxie was the same way. “Don’t even get me started on the feeding policy. She hasn’t messed up, but I don’t think she leaves his side very often. It’s pathetic. I told him we should change the policy to allow the students to feed on the tourists, no one would notice if one or two died by accident.”
Being forced to swim in an artificial ocean would have pissed Seph off beyond belief. Thus the idea that students were microwaving blood and popping blood bags just to have a meal made her cringe. “I’m telling you, if he let me sink those stupid cruise ships that pass by this island every so often we wouldn’t have blood bank shortages and things would be fun around here.”
With a tilt of her head she eyed a boat off in the horizon. All it would have taken was a flick of her wrist and it would have capsized. No one would think twice if a boat disappeared and bodies couldn’t be found. It simply would have been just another tragic accident. It was nice to be able to express that slight blood lust to someone who understood. If she had so much mentioned wanting to capsize ships to other staff, she was sure they’d look at her in horror and wonder how they allowed her to be a nurse in the first place. Regardless, Seph didn’t give a shit if they liked her or not. She was better than them and she wasn’t going to deny the Siren blood and nature that she was born to. “Yes, my mother and our clan own a territory which spans a good portion of the pacific ocean. Legend has it that our kind came from the Naiads or were divine, but illegitimate children born of Ares and Aphrodite. The amazons or Sparta of the sea…” There was a reflection of pride when she mentioned her lineage. It was almost insulting that Alexander put a limit on Sephora, but she had chosen to be here. She was sure sometime she would swim into the tide and not return until she had gotten her fill of destruction, but there was still hope the Holy Cross would enter her ocean and she’d be able to create the perfect storm.
“Forgive me, I don’t mean to insult you because I know what you’re capable of.” It was a sincere apology as the two of them had a slight rivalry between them. Power was power and regardless of their similarities the two of them were still watching their backs and looking for a chance to oust the other, but in the moment Seph was enjoying the conversation not caring too much to piss Roxie off. Regardless of the ocean by her side, demons were nasty creatures who could really inflict damage and Seph appreciated the power and strength Roxie hid behind her glamour, but she wasn’t looking to have to fix her hair or stitch herself up if things didn’t go her way. “There are only a few who deserve to carry on the name, clearly you don’t have anything to be offended about because you handle yourself like you’ve been around for a century or two. It’s those Siren want to be mermaids I’d like to see served up as sushi…” A quick roll of her eyes and she was back to thinking about the turf battles between mer kingdoms and siren clans. Sirens always won unless they were outnumbered, but it was a rare chance that mermaids could stand up to their superiors. It was here at St. Gabriel where the hot air of arrogance filled the heads of “pretty” mermaids who forgot that beyond the protection of school rules Sirens would put them in their place.

There had always seemed to be a power struggle within her own little family. Her grandmother being the matriarch and her father being as head strong as he was. Still no one went against her grandmothers words or wishes. She was powerful even in her old age and her father respected that but still exercised control over his wife who was weaker than him but beautiful. Then there was Roxie and Roxie assumed that when she was contracted to create a child that there would be power struggles between her and her significant other. Demons were loners and did not function within family units very well, although they tried. Some succeeded but those were weak demons who submitting to the alpha of the group. Roxie was an alpha and she refused to be silenced by anyone who tried. Sephora tried to silence her and Roxie refused such a thing. No one would hold her back or hold her down by making her submit. She would rather fight for her life than submit to someone weaker than herself. Now there was a difference between submitting and falling to the orders of the matriarch of her family. She listened to the old lady in charge of the family but she rarely gave orders anymore. Chaos was apart of her life and instead of having rules she preferred to watch everyone fall to anarchy, even her own family.
To Sephora's comment she laughed. "Mortals were already boring creatures. They were only put on this earth so that we would have play things." That was all she thought of humans and things that were mortal. Playthings that wanted to be used and abused by demons. Hell there were humans who submitted to vampires and allowed them to feast on their blood as many times as the vampire wanted. Humans longs for submission to the super natural. They wanted to be close to that which they feared both and they did not want to eradicate it because they secretly longed for it. The problem was that too many immortals would kill the world. The balance between mortal and immortals needed to be maintained even if Roxie wanted to kill them all. "Men are cruel and they need to be taught to kneel before us." She commented and smirked as she noticed the change within her companion. Speaking of cruise ships seemed to have gotten her blood flowing and Roxie liked it. "Alexander should be reminded that he too has killed people and we should stop denying who we are. Go sink your cruise ship... whats the worst he can do... fire you?" Her need to kill was impulsive but the kill itself was slow and meticulous. Speaking of killing made Roxie's ears perk up a bit and her blood began to race faster as well.
Men were soft when it came to women could not have been a more true statement. She often lured men into her companionship with a short skirt and a flirty smile that they would not seen again once she had her nails digging into their soft squishy flesh. Her grandmother had been known to act as a whore to gain the confidence of men before she killed them and that trait had been passed to Roxie. A funny thought crossed her mind at the mention that Alexander had a thing for blondes. "maybe we should appeal to his weakness... get dressed up in some short little skirts and play with our hair as we tell him that we want to kill. He will be powerless to say no." The idea was slightly comical but she knew that his will was strong and he would not be so easily taken. "I image you would look just as sexy as me if we wore matching little plaid skirts. appeal to his need to be the headmaster of this school." Compliments were not her thing but instead she made comments that could be mistaken for compliments. So while she didn't openly say that she thought Sephora was pretty she compared the girl to herself and Roxie thought highly of herself. Since she said as sexy as me it was her way of saying that Sephora could hold her own in the looks category.
"You know... we could always tempt her. I have plenty of access to blood and all we need to do it wave it around in front of her. I image that the desire to feed will take over and she will loose control rather quickly." It would be easy enough to tempt a vampire who had never tasted real blood before. Dangle it in front of them and watch as they loose it but then move out of the way. It would be funny to watch Alexander chase after his little pet while she ran through campus tearing people limb from limb for their blood. However the blood storage was a very difficult topic to deal with and Roxie felt very privileged to have access to the good stuff, however if things kept up then even the rich would struggle. It was best that she got out of the area before the shortage got too extreme and seeing the world she would be able to feed freely. "I don't drink from a blood bank. That plastic stuff is just gross."
Secretly Roxie wanted to prod and get Sephora to sink a ship if only so she could see the Siren's true abilities at work. Plus she loved the idea of listening to everyone scream as they plunged to their death in the middle of the ocean. Oh she loved how people screamed during their last moments as they grasped at their final breaths. It was an empowering sound to take away from someone and the silence that followed still rang out louder than any scream. Silence made her ears perk up as though it had its own sound to it. "Do people scream underwater?" She asked as she thought about it. "Can you hear their final please for salvation?
Listening to her history was interesting since she knew of the legends that surround all of the supernatural creatures. Demons were hell spawns that crawled out from the depths to bring destruction to the world. It was their mission from a fallen angel and they were doing as they wanted. Of course legends were not proven one way or the other. "Good to know... I will avoid the pacific if possible." She responded once Sephora finished. "Aren't we all creations from the divine? I know that demons were supposedly created from a fallen angel so that makes us divine." Who wanted to be close to god? Not Roxie. Nope she was happy here on earth on her mission to destroy humanity.
"if I wasn't capable then I would have been killed after birth." She explained. It was the truth and most demons lived by that rule. If a child was born and that child was weak then it was killed right away. Only the strongest survived childhood and lived into adulthood. Technically Roxie was still fighting her way out of childhood to prove herself a strong immortal but she hated being called a child. The sushi comment made her laugh. "I do hate those pretty little mermaids. They think that they are so cute and so innocent. They bat their eyelashes and people hand them stuff. They will never kill and that is their downfall." She commented. Of course having not been a part of the mermaids versus sirens she did not know what she was talking about. In fact she was probably just speaking out of her ass but still she knew that Sephora was strong and the mermaids were just innocent beings in capable of taking care of themselves.

There was turbulence in the water and in the distance the ship was shaking causing the lights to flicker. There were panicked screams and some garbled noise over the intercom as the captain tried to calm them. Sephora was still she was able to command the oceans without so much as lifting a finger. After nine hundred years of messing with ships she had gotten bored of simply sinking them. Almost like a child shaking a ship in the tub Sephora found pleasure in playing with them, scaring them and making them reconsider just how safe the sea was. Maybe after she did that, the damned things would quit dumping their garbage into her waters. “And then god gave us other supes to make even more exciting play things.” She noted the few who ventured to the open deck of the cruise ship to see what was causing the shake and with a tilt of her head Sephora summoned a wave to wash over the deck. It throttled them and ushered a few more screams as a man went overboard.
Now the voices were hurried and rushed as they did their rescue procedures throwing the lifelines and signaling that someone had gone overboard. Women were crying and screaming for help and ushering their children into the safety of the indoor deck. “He wouldn’t fire me, just another long lecture that I should behave. The vampire knows a thing or two about staying in his place, he can’t forget this island is surrounded by water.” The blue of her eyes illuminated as the blood heated her skin. Quickly storm clouds began to form in the distance and a wind whipped at the ship. Bolts of lightning streaked across the horizon and struck the bow ushering another wave of screams. “You know I really do think he likes the kill, it was that petty Marie Devereaux who made him soft. I think you should remind him what it’s like, I’m sure he misses it. ”
With a wink a stronger bolt of lightning hit the ship and its power went out. All the hum and the buzz of the ship stopped as the ship stalled dead in the water and in its silence ushered the terrified screams of many of the passengers. “Should I keep torturing them or sink them? I’m a bit reluctant because there are children on the ship, but whatever the case I’m sure the vermin can make more. If they survive.” Her luminous gaze shifted over to Roxie as she hit the ship with a few more powerful waves. The screaming was endless and it was like music to the Siren’s ears. The best part of it all is that she doubted Alexander would ever find out. The Siren had also learned a trick of a trade from her mother, using the currents she could propel the wreckage somewhere else to be found and blamed on other demises. Looking back to the ocean she played with them knocking a few overboard and shaking them in the waves. Bored with the same old screaming she lifted her hand and twirled her finger causing a whirlpool in the water.
Unable to lower the lifeboats they began their praying and now the women were joined by the chorus of men who were frightened and frantic for their lives. “Oh he’d be out of his mind and then when his little pet comes along to try and tell him otherwise all we need to do is toss a bleeding human right in front of her.” The thought pleased her and with another gust of wind she sent rain pouring down in the distance. A little storm was brewing and tearing at the ship breaking down the morale that was left. All equipment failed due to the high surge of electricity she sent through its frame and any calls of help would be futile. “Do you get yours fresh? Most people just go into silver city or elysian to feed, but I can’t imagine townie tastes very good. If I were Alexander I’d just have humans rounded up like cattle to feed the students, the world is overpopulated anyway.” It was a fresh feeling that ran through her veins as if a part of her had finally been awakened. Playing nice was fun, but a Siren was a Siren and being cold was in their blood.
“Oh you’d love the sound.” She grinned with joy deciding that perhaps jumping into the water wasn’t a bad plan after her chat with Roxie. “The sound is clearer and stronger in water and you can hear them crying, begging and struggling for air.”” A shiver of pleasure ran up her spine as she struck the deck with another bolt causing a small fire on board. She must have killed someone because there was a loud wailing and weeping as the men frantically tried to put the fire out. “The best part is when they choke on the water and they go silent and all you hear is the final pulse of their heart. ” She leaned back against the tree allowing the humans a false sense of hope that the storm was letting up and when they least expected it she would crush those hopes and bring them back to terror. “You’re kind and the angels yes, but those dogs the weres and the shapeshifters, they can hardly call themselves divine.
“You’re kind kills the weak?” She mused happily surprised. Her thoughts went to her own society. The sirens bred their children and those who didn’t pass the tests of purity at birth were given away to mermaids. “I wish Sirens practice that. Our weak are given to the mermaids and if no one takes them left to die. Personally I’d prefer if we killed them before they procreate.” As the humans calmed and the screams had subsided into silence Sephora gave them a few more moments as they tried to revive the ship. There were candles being lit to help them see in the darkness of the inner decks and flashlights rushing about to secure lines and try to regain power. “Mermaids hate our kind especially my mother’s clan. Sirens for fun round up mermaids and hunt them down as a test of skill and right of passage. It’s fun shish kebobing those pretty little twits.” A smile pulled at the corners of her lips as she thought of her first mermaid kill. She was young, only about twelve years old when her mother took her to the brink of the border of their nation and said don’t return until you have a tail of a mermaid. She had done one better and harpooned a mermaid parading the corpse on her way back to show her mother. With flick of her hand she hit the ship with opposite waves which cracked a portion of its hull causing it to take on water. The screams resumed killing the peace that had washed over the ship.

Post by ROXIE ♥ PARKER on Mar 16, 2013 7:17:31 GMT -6
Roxie had not really noticed any happenings down in the water below Sephora, mostly because she did not care for the element. Obviously she was drawn to things such as blood and gore but Sephora was drawn to it and Roxie liked when a creature of their nature refused to give up on who they were. Truly they were powerful when confronted with their own element and when given the freedom that they needed to live. Rules were so confining but even Roxie had to accept that demons required order to prevent absolute chaos within their ranks. Plus rules gave a sense of power and direction for them otherwise most demons would spent their time trying to kill humans and each other. To avoid fighting between demons and the other immortals it was important to have rules and Roxie learned from this school how to live within such confines. Still she longed for the freedom of the campus rules but was their really that much of a difference? Soon she would be able to kill at will without fear of the location but that was really the only advantage.
Now she noticed the change in the air and the change in the sea in front of them. A smirk continued to dance on her lips as Sephora began to play with the cruise ship out in the distance. Just watching her got Roxie's blood to pump faster and the flavor of her last kill grew stronger on her tongue. The flavor alone got her her eyes to begin their fade to blackness and it was only encouraged by Sephora's little act in front of her. "I love the way that they panic. As if they can defy death when clearly at your hand its inevitable." She commented. "I know that he is one to enjoy the lectures. I have heard my fair share and they annoy the hell out of me. If he wanted to punish me then choosing to speak for an hour on end is a perfectly good way but I prefer something a little more physical." He didn't take that route because it would obviously be unprofessional to torture a student and he knew that Roxie would enjoy it too much. However something that Sephora said peaked her interest. "Marie Deveraux? Is that the name of his late wife?"
Honestly she had never heard the name before but she knew it could be used against him. Best to gain the knowledge now and then use it against him when she was feeling desperate to see that look turn to one of hatred. Her headmaster showed hatred quite well, she thought, and maybe it would turn into that lever that would piss him off to the point of no return. The crack of lightening brought her back to the situation in front of her and she laughed at the comment about children. "This world is getting too crowded with their filth so I vote you drown them all only after they have been tortured." She replied. Roxie loved to slow the kill down and at some points give them hope. Getting it over with showed that she did not savor it and Roxie loved to take in their cries and pleading.
As she continued to watch the chaos in front of her, Roxie just feel the deeper need for an additional kill that night and slowly she made plans to disappear from her companion once they were finished with their conversation. In the city no one would notice her and no one would care if someone went missing when people disappeared every day. No one ever noticed when the weak went missing and Roxie would not take someone powerful. At least not tonight when all she wanted was the taste of blood dripping down her throat and towards her stomach. Already she was imaging the warmth flooding her body and her eyes completely turned black as she thought about her little adventure more and more. "My father brings me a human when he can. I can hunt when I choose but you are correct. The townies have never been a fine meal but they do when you just need blood." She explained. Slowly she stood up and surveyed their surrounds a bit more in depth. Then she imaged holding a human out over the cliff side and watching the fear in their eyes at the prospect of falling to their death. "if he ever did such I thing then I think I might fall in love with him. To know someone so cruel is what ever demon wants after all."
Her body was gearing up to go after she listened and witnessed the power of the Sirens. She knew that they were a powerful race but it was lovely to watch one prove themselves to be worthy in her eyes. "I love that final pulse but I love the way that they beg right up until it happens. Most never accept that death has come for them and they cry so hard. They beg so hard and cry out to their god, as if he actually listens to them. I hate it when they assume that he will save them when clearly he put us creatures on this world for a purpose." She commented and shoved her hands into the pockets of her coat. The urge to leave and run off to find herself another victim was over powering but she stayed and continued to witness the destruction of the ship.
"Of course... why would we permit the weak to live?If they will do nothing for our kind then we take the most logical actions towards them." It was logical to Roxie and she just hoped that when she brought a child into this world it was bred for power and it showed that power right away. Of course children were not on her mind but she loved the idea of thinning the heard so that only the strongest survived through to adulthood. "I am sorry that your kind is too weak to follow such a practice. You might have less mermaids if they did." Her eyes darted up as she witnessed the ship crack in two. A perfect end to a large mass of humans and Roxie felt a twinge of jealousy since she longed to be able to preform such a mass killing. To rip through human after human using her claws and fangs would be such a wonderful moment but she would not be able to savor each death as the whole mass killing thing would need to happen.
As the screams resumed Roxie began to laugh as if she was having a good time. Her hands now rested on her hips and she continued to just laugh hysterically. "Oh Sephora... I believe that we are powerful and that one day this world will just bow at our feet as the weaklings that they are."
