H I S T O R Y* *
Victoire comes from a very simple story. It begins with her birth to her loving parents Vivienne and Jean Bordeaux. For years they attempted to have children, but poor Vivienne didn’t seem to be ableto get pregnant. After praying to God one miserable night, Vivienne received her answer and nine months later the dawn after so many years of darkness was born. Her daughter was a small baby weighing no more than six pounds and 3 ounces, but she was no less loved. Her middle name means Flower of the Dawn and represented how much Victoire meant to her mother.
The Bordeauxs loved their daughter. She was well provided for and had the best schoolingmoneycould buy in Aubigny, France. Under her parents care she flourished and grew into a quirky, but beautiful young woman. At the age of 16 she fell in love with a fellow classmate by the name of Augustin Lanoire. The Lanoires were a new family that had recently moved to Aubigny and little was known about them. They were mysterious and private people, but according to most of the town they were great benefactors to many of the town’s functions. Many envied them for their graceful beauty, but Victoire saw something more in Auggie.
For Victoire, Auggie was a boy who made her laugh and smile at the strangest things. They were spellbound by one another and for the years that they spent together at Aubigny’s Preparatory Academy they were inseparable. So it was no surprise to anyone that they would marry two years later at the age of 18. During her honeymoon, Victoire was surprised to find that she was pregnant and before their first anniversary their beloved daughter Isabelle was born.
The newly wed Lanoire’s stayed in England to start their new lives together and raise their beautiful daughter. Unbeknownst to Victoire, the move was a safety measure planned out by the Lanoire’s to conceal their Faery lineage. While they loved their son, daughter in-law and granddaughter, it was too much of a risk to keep the Faeries in one area so exposed to the open. As the senior Lanoire’s moved away, so did the newlyweds. Victoire thought nothing of it and was deeply entranced by her daughter.
Of course not all fairytales end with happiness. Eleven years of peace and happiness were interrupted by a deadly threat. One night, Augustin received a letter from his parents urging him to find refuge for himself and his family as they were being hunted. Unable to conceal his secret any longer he divulged his past to his wife. Victoire shocked and angry that he had kept it from her, but after a long talk she accepted it. For several weeks they looked for somewhere to go, suspicious of others and very protective of their daughter.
Finally they heard word from another Faery who had sought refuge on an Island near the United States. With no other options the family made plans to leave for Elysium. The final day before they were to leave, Victoire went to pick her daughter up from school upon returning home she found a pile of glittering dust on the ground with a note that said they would be back for her daughter. In grief and in terrible fear for her daughter’s life, Victoire left everything behind and fled to Elysium.
With no money, skills or schooling she had no idea how to support herself or find a home for her broken family. Luckily the headmaster heard her plea and offered her and her daughter a place at the school, allowing them to live on the campus as much of the staff did. Angry at the murder of her husband and protective of her daughter, Victoire has decided the only thing she can do is move on and protect her daughter at all costs.
