Like his kin Jonathan has superhuman abilities. What sets him apart from his brethren is the pair of jet black wings tinged at the ends with graying feathers. From an injury during his childhood, Jonathan can’t fly very well. However, he can use his wings to jump great heights in one burst. Unlike his photokinetic and aerokinetic counterparts, Johathan has the power of illusion which limited to causing pain. By touch or simply by looking at someone, he can cause immense pain that is akin to having every bone in one’s body broken. The only supernaturals seemingly immune to this power are those with mental abilities like telepaths and other illusion casters. Still those who possess other skills like elementals, photokinetics and those who possess control over darkness are still affected.

Jonathan was born in Germany around 1922 to a housewife and a world war I veteran. Paired with his fraternal twin sister elise, the two of them displayed the telltale characteristics of angels at a young age. Heinrich and Eva themselves were angels, but had never heard of a case quite like theirs. For when the twins were born, a strange circumstance befell them. While elise was blonde, fair, pale eyed with wings like snow Jonathan was fair in skin and eyes, but dark in hair and in wings. Worried since his birth, the Reinhardts kept careful eye over their Johnathan.
As they grew their parents taught them how to control their powers. It seemed that although the boy could fly, he was incapable of casting any light like his mother, father and sister. Frustrated that he was outcast by his own family, the boy released a frightening power which brought his father to his knees. Afraid of the boy, but loving him no less they continued to hone his powers hoping he would never use them for darker things. They continued to live their quiet lives in a humble and small village. However villagers were beginning to notice strange events surrounding their household.
Rumors began about the family. While seemingly harmless they were different from the other people in town. To make matters worse, words spread that bad things happened to people who were unkind towards the family and that many children who had picked on the Reinhardt boy experienced extreme pain around him. Blaming the village’s economic turmoil on the family they marked them as witches and rounded them into the square. With nowhere to run and overpowered by the village, the Reinhardts were bound in the central square and burned. Attempting to escape the excruciating pain and save her children Eva sent a burst of light through the binds as she had her husband extended their wings grabbing her children as she tried to take off. Terrified by the display, several of the men shot at her and though they had escaped from the flames, the villagers hacked off their wings.
As the children fled from their dead parents, the villagers followed in suit shooting and killing his sister before coming after him. Luckily with the use of his powers and the murder of his family as a delay, Jonathan escaped. He was badly injured with deep lacerations on his shoulder blades and wings almost mangled. He collapsed in a forest and was found by a family of werewolves. Pitying the boy, the Alpha’s wife took him in and nursed him back to health. He remained with them for a few years working to pay off the debt he owed and when World War Two began he enlisted with hidden desires.
He began as a simple enlisted man, but climbed the ranks and earned himself quite the name in the Schutzstaffel. Deadly and revered for his ruthlessness he had much influence in the war. Under his command the village which he had once called home was rounded up and subjected to different tortures and deaths. Once everyone had died or been left to suffer in a camp, Jonathan assumed a different identity and fought on the American side of the war.
When the war was over in Germany he returned with the Americans and wandered much of the country until he met a vampire by the name of Alexander Devereaux. Despite being at odd ends with one another, due to Jonathan’s affinity for darker things, Alexander saw potential in the young man and offered him a place in the school. Upon graduating, Jonathan stayed in touch with those who remained on the island, but sought to engage himself in other war conflicts around the world.
When word that the Holy Cross was sending their believers to the school, Alexander called Jonathan and urged him to take place as Head of Security. Unable to resist the thought of strangling a few cross freaks, Jonathan returned to St. Gabriel where he resides currently with his quiet companion Apollo, enjoying the many rumors the students have spread about his ruthless character.
